Groups, Organizations, Species
malpura Spongo -
Techno-organic Morel Mushrooms, more or less. Most of their kind are used as living payloads, launched either at enemies or festooned onto the prow of ships as rams. Part of the Glimmelschlager Syndicate. The elite among this race serve as honour guards.
Their entire body exudes excrement, making close contact a Class 1 Hazard.
Felsëlwer
Rock Surfers
Craggy, sharp and thin mountain peak like, circular planetoid dwelling hominids. Part of a massive system spanning band of debris, captured objects and planetoids called Mejingjord’s Suspenders. Blue flame-like magnetic phenomena encircle a large swathe of area surrounding the Fels, re-centering if they move. Only one Fels ever occupies any one planetoid, asteroid or captured comet. Part of their gestation process terraforms it into a habitable environment.
Locations
Ïɣᛊ -
Planet. The second twin of the Fjarl home planets. Is most likely a captured comet, though it’s ultra low temperatures, thin skin of ice salts ( SiOH amongst others), unique bands of circulating liquids (Pure bands of He and N, along with giant bubble “pools” of non-mixing SiO3 and LDL H2O) and huge size make it an anomaly even before one discovers the giant crystal Silicate “bridge” that forms a link between the upper atmospheres of Ïɣᛊ and Faed.
Ventifacts of Inanis -
Wind scoured mineral deposits on orbital body Inanis, an otherwise unremarkable speck of iron and trace minerals encircling Its local star. These deposits are leftover from impacts with other orbital bodies early on in the formation of its local system. The large size, surrealist beauty and undisturbed remoteness of the structures make for a popular, but carefully managed, tourist destination. The VB’s BoSM chief has a particular fondness for this attraction, rotating through powerful VB units and squadrons to ensure the universe's malcontents keep their appendages to themselves. The system itself is devoid of even precursor organic molecules.
Draak -
Home of the Dracovirum Impery and all related races, species and powers. A dual blackhole cluster makes up its core. Has an even mix of elements and stars, with above average numbers of pulsars and quasars. Noted for its density of star nurseries. Cluster density also above average. Nearly double average number of sentient lifeforms due to the larger than mean number of planets per star.
Technology and Concepts
M̥λέπαςǣw -
Comprises the core of the crystalline shell that MIMS inhabit. The result of pulsar crushing cosmic debris. It is wholly unique in the universe. Being a quantum conductor of multiple particle types, among other highly desirable properties, the MIMS have come into considerable conflict over the final resting places of their kin with hostile races and factions.
More commonly referred to as Sanguenite
Kessōcha -
Universal trade good and Unit of Currency.
A formally herbaceous shrub was brought by the [Redacted] to their moon from one of their transitory previous homes, though not from their origin planet. Owing to the both the unique gravity, available nutrients, pockets of atmosphere (alongside some [Redacted] RNA tinkering) on its new home, the plant has evolved into a botanical crystal factory. It is still used in its original capacity of being soaked in heated Dihydrogen monoxide and consumed as a flavorful drink. Several decades after the first Kessōcha orchards bloomed their delicate flowers and leaves in translucent prismatic majesty, the [Redacted] noticed that some individuals were exhibiting supersized crystal growth, no longer growing branches or even multiple leaves; just one massive crystal with a varied mix of flower buds, bloomed flowers and leave segments seemingly captured in solution within. Over the next 600 years, only the most beautiful, the largest or the most intricate specimens were kept and proliferated. Several microclimates eventually harbored unique cultivars, each having wildly different subtleties but sharing the same fragments in solution trait. Each region in turn honed these unique nuances into fully fledged macro differences. The original anomalous specimens are considered the most desirous, and the second newest the least. The cultivars have stabilized into 7 distinct subspecies.
Early in the Dracovirum Impery, the then Emperor was captivated by the [Redacted]’s unusual plants and brew, and declared it a treasure of the Impery. Subsequent attempts at replication proved impossible. The [Redacted] told the Emperor that countless other factions and species had tried and failed as well, keeping detailed logs of those efforts so as to constantly refine the robustness of its genetic code. Some rumours swirl to this day of a tryst between the Dracovirum Emperor and a [Redacted] Kessocha tender, but nothing conclusive has ever been found. Over time, these crystal plants were found to be so unique in structure that trade deals between subfactions of warring parties were able to be struck. The Impery used them to entice new members as a sign of financial security. After the formation of the [Redacted], a massive study was undertaken to detail and ensure the tamper proof status of this crystalline delights and the results were astounding: Even the slightest moisture, of any chemical makeup, begins melting the crystal itself. Once the crystalline structure begins losing integrity, it can never be made whole again. And most importantly, the physical fingerprints of each of the 7 subspecies were obvious enough to allow denominations in this precious commodity. The grading system the [Redacted] had self-assigned was accepted, and is as follows, in order from most exquisite, most worth, to least exquisite, least worth:
Gyokuro
Ujicha
Genmatcha
Oolongcha
Tamaryokucha
Shincha
Hojicha
as Food stuff:
Due to its delicate state, the [Redacted] are among the few who can brew with this substance without ruining it. Available in limited supplies from carefully chosen distributors, this form is unusable as a currency.
