Skein
Succube
The Last Kiss
Daedalust: Artifex
Difficult to see even with sensors, each unit appears slightly hazy and out of focus at distance. Among the best at disabling ships, their tactics seem simple; encircle foes and disorient them. Unique weaponry slowly eats away at targets’ systems while a steady barrage of destabilizing energy drains shields and weakens armor.
Shervage
Woody Shield
Daedalust: Maris
Specialists at defensive tactics, this Skein is the first and last line of escort for high value friendlies. Possessing projectable shielding technology as well as interference and interdiction payloads, they are well suited to their role. Humorously, it is also capable of something known as a stomp field. Early data suggests it is a deployable suppression field that is proactively fired in the way of threats, both ship and projectile.
Their nomen may stem from their browned and bronzed scrollwork evident all across the MEMS shell.
Masangi
Thrice Knitter
Daedalust: Sethlans
Dedicated rebuilder and repairer micro-MEMS swarms are their main payload. Limited offensive capabilities invite enemies in, wherein its massive disruptor banks open up, leaving the now hapless foes prostate for other allies to mop up. These disruptors must be activated relatively close to the offending targets, but their cumulative output is enough to disable Colossi class enemies. Their helpful micro swarms can engage friendly units in need at distance, a fire and forget payload.
Dreadnaughts
Nydhogr
Cruel Fang
Daedalust: Mantus
A Colossi ship killer specialist. Few ships seem possessed with the single mindedness this MEMS displays once assigned a target on a battlefield; no one is too small or too large. Part of its lethality is derived via its proximity disassemblers. These super specialists can break apart bonds on an atomic level. The resultant leftovers are repurposed by the onboard armory. Such is its speed at these efforts that an entire enemy weapon system has been reaved, reproduced and redeployed against them in real time.
Exedra
Piercing Light
Daedalust - Leinth
Noted for its individuals coated in piercing and blinding mirrored finishes. This is deceiving, slightly, as each “finish” is comprised of nanoMEMS that can adjust their reflective angle depending on threat or need. On the fly adjustable focal pits, from concave to convex, exist all over the ship, emanating intense thermal death at both long distances and within shouting distance.
Ótr
Ringed Ram
Daedalust: Laran
A hulking, midnite coloured MEMS. Designed for high velocity, long range targeted ramming. Its forward bulkhead and bulwharks are so massive, that by tonnage a separate Colossi class MEMS could be made from the remainder. It is not so low tech as a simple battering ram, as the front ramming surface is shapeable and malleable until right before impact. Its speed alone sees it out of enemy pickets, and its inertial wake sucks in and obliterates most any smaller foe so caught, smashing them to bits. It is vulnerable if it is not moving, which is not often.
Colossi
Fåfnir
Golden Mantle
“Melted” golden exterior, shot through with gemstones. These gemstones are actually macro and macro MEMS production facilities, each serving a different purpose; some are offensive, some are defensive and the remainder are utilitarian. Massive bands of emerald snake around the main fuselage. These are semi-autonomous point defense weapon systems.
Tismet
Scything Scourge
Daedalust: Voltumna
A black and violet plated exterior. A massive point defense system blankets broken geometry concentric rings from aft to stern, firing waves of mid range plasma in bands so velocitous that they appear as scythe blades from long distance. This system is highly adaptable, able to change its output amplitude mid-wave. It is speculated, and reinforced by immense Syndicate bounties, that a bound Plasmid lies at the heart of its awesome firepower.
